About Us

Machinegun Bob Productions

Welcome to the site. It has been a long time coming. This comic began as a
graphic novel titled "The Bridge" that story told the tale of Golf 2/5's deployment
to Iraq during the initial invasion in 2003.

Since we are a new company, we decided to put out a shorter version that
focused solely on Sgt. Marco Martinez. His is an almost unbelievable tale of
true courage under fire.

If this book is successful enough, we will bring "The Bridge" out as a graphic
novel later this year.

As you can tell from this site, we are a young company. Our main goal is to tell
the kind of stories that we enjoy. Our hope is that you will enjoy them too.

Machinegun Bob Productions consists of:

Richard C. Meyer: artist/writer. Served in the Marine Corps from 2000-2004 as a
machinegunner. Was a squad leader during the initial invasion.

Carlos I. Silva: editor/publisher. Served in the Marine Corps from 2000-2005 as
both a machinegunner and a Marine Security Guard. Stationed at embassies in
Cuba and Spain and did a tour in the Green Zone in 2005.

Who is Machinegun Bob?

Machinegun Bob was a small Lego toy that
our instructor at the Machinegun Course
used to punish us. Sgt. Post (who looked like
the main character from "Office Space")
would put Machinegun Bob in any number of
painful positions. We would then be told to
get into the same position and hold it as long
as Machinegun Bob did. Wouldn't you know,
the little bastard always won.
